FINALS WEEK!

Well time has surely flown. It seems only like yesterday that I was moving on campus, now I will be heading home to Christmas break in a week! Now comes the frantic studying and trying to cram every little piece of of information into your head time. But with God's help all things are possible; with a little assistance from the world aka caffeine. lol!

This is the way I feel about this week.

Wow...Life...

Well life has been really busy since my last post. I guess I should list all my doings but that would take forever to write so I will summarize and if someone wants a more in depth explanation they can hit up the comments! Alrighty then... I have become a Floor Representative for my residence hall's RHA, GO Benson Hall! hehe. I have played in an Ultimate Frisbee intramural league and now I am involved in the Flag Football intramural league. I feel like there is so much more but that is all I can think of at the moment.

Oh! I am also going to try to become a RA next year because it looks like so much fun, and I have been inspired by some of my friends who are RAs, shout out to Brett Baumgardener, Jason Millsap, and my favorite RA, John Keaton. The Residence Directors (RDs) are some of the coolest people I know and are like older brothers to me that I have never had the chance of experiencing.

I guess I could throw in some pictures to make this seem brighter. :D

I guess I should mention I went Whitewater Rafting!! It was awesome and can't wait to go again!

I went on a Fall Break Trip to Jasper, Alabama to help with Tornado clean-up and building projects. I had an absolutely wonderful time and met so many new friends!

Benson Hall had a Grocery Cart 500. This pic is the straightaway to the finish with the RDs taking 1st Place. Daniel (Danny) Jetton in the green and C.J. Bradley in the blue. Best RDs ever!

During Homecoming Week at Trevecca there was a parade around campus. This is the group that participated. We were the Benson Brother's Greatest show on Earth. I am the far left as Leopold the Strong man. The Announcer in the purple suit is C.J. Bradley and then we had a clown, a juggler on a unicycle, animals, and the pair on the far right became Igor, the tallest Indian around.

The RHA appreciation dinner hosted by President Dan Boone's wife Mrs. Denise Boone. This was a night to remember mainly because Mrs. Denise actually encourage some of us to get a picture of ourselves planking on the President's desk! Needless to say the night was fun. Oh, and bragging rights, Benson Hall has the largest RHA participation. :D

This is a dear friend of mine that I met on the TAG Mission Trip to Alabama. She is Heather Bryant the RD of the Female Apartments. Hilarious Scottish accent every time she says the Lord's Prayer! I love her to death lol!

Well I Have Some Time...

Well I just got done with classes so I thought I would update everyone.

Life here at Trevecca has been quite busy with all the events going on. During Welcome Week we had a night at Grand Ole Golf for "Caddyshack Night"

Then there was All-School Praise and Worship that was really fun.

There was a Dodgeball Tournament

A VERY popular Welcome Week event called Paint-a-Palooza

A Rush of Fools concert with Jimmy Needham

Then that Saturday we had a Super Water Slide with water provided by the Nashville Fire Department

Yeah so life here hasn't been boring by any means. lol Our Residence Hall also had a Welcome Week and had a Grossest Food eating contest, Benson Brew (coffee and music), a Hawaiian Luau with a real pig on a spit (really cool), and other little events.

I have become great friends already with a lot of people on campus including my 7 suite-mates, usually when all my friends get together to play board games it gets to about 12 people sometimes.

My professors are excellent! They make the lessons so interesting. For my 3 History classes I have the same professor so that is kinda cool. Then my Marketing professor is hilarious and explains things very well. So life here at Trevecca has been a blast and it has only been what...3 weeks I think?

First Sunday, Day Three

Okay, so let's just say today was absolutely amazing! (Warning long post :P )

First was Sunday School with Trevecca Community Church of the Nazarene here on campus and the lesson was talking about Romans chapters 5-6. The teacher asked if we would call ourselves sinners and most the class raised their hands including me. The were a couple that said that because we are saved by grace and are now followers of Christ, that we are no longer defined as sinners, but Christians. The class got into a huge discussion breaking down the definitions of sin, Christian, Sinner, and another one I can't remember. In the end the teacher pulled out this verse and it took the wind out of everyone's sails because it just makes sense! Romans 6:17-18 "17 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, 18 and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness."Meaning that we are no longer defined as sinners, but as Christians striving toward sanctification - to become more like Christ in our attitudes, our conversations, and our actions. Though we mess up, we ask forgiveness and move forward not looking back at our old ways, and looking toward Jesus Christ our Savior.

Then later today we had the All-School Praise and Worship Service, which was awesome! The Lord showed himself tonight, and the Holy Spirit flooded the room with His presence. It has been awhile since I have felt that close and intimate with the Lord. We then had a prayer session and a group of us students - some from my suite - gathered around and talked about what we wanted to happen this semester dealing with our spiritual walk with Jesus. The most powerful song of the night was "All To Us" by Chris Tomlin, this song really spoke to me about the depth of the love God has for us.

Me and the guys in my suite have also decided to start a weekly study group on Sunday nights to talk about what the Lord has shown us in the services that morning, passages of Scripture the Lord has spoken to us through, and to keep each other accountable in our Spiritual walks and to pray with each other when needed. If the Lord has already done so much in three days I can't wait for what He has in store for me this semester!

Day One and Two at College

Alright! So this is Saturday night of life here at Trevecca. It has been incredibly fun!

Day One, was Move-In Day and was quite hectic but thankfully I had my large family here to help me move all my stuff in and get it organized. Then we went around and finished some last minute registration details.

Day Two involved going to breakfast with all the guys from my suite and hanging out. We found out we all like Star Wars pretty much, as well as musical interests as well. After breakfast we went and finished our registration process went upstairs to another room and got our ID's (pictured below) We also got SLAP cards (Social Life Activities Pass) $45 - (Also pictured below.) This card gets me into all kinds of events for free compared to having to pay for every single event - concerts, events, and tons of local discounts! lol

Tomorrow is church and then a free lunch hosted by the church on campus here. Then that night is an All School Praise and Worship Service. So far life has been fun.

Long Time No See

Well howdy folks! It has been an entire year since I have posted on this blog, YIKES! A lot of things have happened since then.

1. I am now going to a brick and mortar college (Trevecca Nazarene University) - no more CollegePlus.

2. I will be going in as a Junior!

3. I'm nineteen now.

I hope to post on this blog as I go through college and record my life experiences here! Wish me well!

Life That Is Dull

Well life hasn't been all that exciting lately... But on the 29th my family and Zoe are headed out West to Kansas City to go to a conference call Fascinate '09 hosted by IHOP (International House of Prayer) Of course I posted this information last post.. but I thought I would say it again... And presently Zoe and I are working on a special we will be performing the 23rd of August.. It is a song called Completely Free by Big Daddy Weave, you can watch it here... (warning the video is graphic) I will be playing the guitar part a lot slower than the original, and Zoe will be singing it. In fact this song started out as key of F as the original, then we moved down to key of D, now we have transposed it to the key of C.. lol but it sounds great! I played some of it for my guitar teacher and he showed me a better way to pick it and play the chords. We have 4 1/2 days till IHOP!! YAY!

Nervous and Excited!

Hey could y'all pray for me today? I am taking a CLEP test in Analyzing Lit. at 3:00 p.m. I feel confident, but if I fail I can't take it again for six months! So yeah, I'm nervous on that fact.. (nervous grin)

My life has been pretty slow lately, but it will pick-up very quick towards the end of this month. Zoe, my family, and I will heading out to Kansas for a conference called Fascinate '09 hosted by IHOP (International House of Prayer).

17!!!! and Other Ramblings of Caleb!

Hey guys! I'm 17! Yep! Wow are the times flying by. It seems just like yesterday I was turning 16! A had a great party. Sunday I went out with Zoe and my family to go see "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian" It was hilarious!! After that we went to Olive Garden. Then the unthinkable happened. I had just got a good amount of B-Day money from a relative, so I asked if I could but a laptop. Well, my dad turns around and "Sure." My mom was honestly shocked to say the truth lol! So on we went to Best Buy. Got that night and backed-up the com. and then an error appeared. I just ignored it and went on with setting the rest of it up. Well it turns out my mom was looking on Best Buy's website and found that they were discontinuing the brand, and there were a couple of cases of crashes within the first few weeks. So my mom and decided to switch it out and now I'm sitting here typing this post on my brand new HP laptop!! I also got "Elyon," "Lunatic," "FYMO," a card my sister made, and two other things I can't post yet :D Oh and I got "Casualties of Retail" by Enter the Haggis - a Celtic rock band, they are really good!

So that just about describes Sunday through Monday.

The other things in life are quite busy as well. I am taking lessons for Classical guitar, and I am also taking lessons for voice. The song I chose to do are; "In Christ Alone (My Hope Is Found), El-Shaddai, and some other stuff my teacher has yet to tell me- she said something like Broadway or Classical, so this could get interesting.

In less than a week Zoe and I will be headed to a music camp!! I so can't wait! Hey Zoe, post idea tell about music camp lol! I'm so excited. Oh, and the Tues. night activity is a ballgame!

In schoolwork, I have to wait two weeks till I take a CLEP test :( This is not the kind of start I wanted, but since my coach is down in Peru for two weeks, I can't do anything.

Enough ramblings..... If you read all this I feel sorry for you lol!

I'm Back!! The Long, Lost, and Distant Idle Blogger!! LOL

Hey y'all!!! I'm back from Washington D.C.! It was amazing!! So many buildings that it was mind boggling! I'll have pics up on my pictures blog of D.C. http://calebspictureblog.blogspot.com/ My favorite sites were the Washington Monument, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial aka The Wall, Gettysburg, and... Mount Vernon!! Mount Vernon was the prettiest place in the whole trip. Breathtaking scenery all around! There's just too much to talk about!! lol!

Well... current events have pretty neat also. I have officially started Collegeplus! It is a program that can help you get through college in two years! Yep, it will be pretty neat to graduate High School with a diploma, and a Bachelor's Degree in either Communications or Business, or whatever God has me choose. They have start with a five week program that is called "Life Purpose Planning." It is designed to help you realize what God is calling you to do. I can't wait to finish it!

Then yesterday, I went to a book sale with Zoe to sell our food products: Homemade fudge, Boiled cookies, and mint chocolates. We didn't make that much, but it was fun anyway. What we really need to do is go to a bigger fair and sell like cakes, and little wood things I can make. :D That would be neat. All I need is a smaller blade for the band saw, and I'll be set :) lol

But enough rambling. Great to back!!!!

I guess I'll go ahead and post lol! The Fine Arts fest this weekend turned out great! I didn't think I did a good job on my piece, but we are own worst judges right? lol I was really relieved when my youth pastor said it was an awesome job. Thanks for all the support and encouragement, Zoe and my friends! :D I really needed it.

After the Fest and seeing Zoe's family off to Gatlinburg, my family and I went to some historic landmarks. We went and saw the Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's home. Then we went and saw the Nashville Parthenon, and the Grand Ole Opry. It was really neat to see those places!

When Zoe get's back I will get with her and see which pics we should post from the trip. We have quite a collection.

Hey!!!!/ Riverdance!!

Hey long time no see y'all!!! Have have y'all been? It's been pretty boring around here lately. Although an exciting thing is happening in April. Zoe and I are going to a festival to play and hopefully get invited to the Nationals. I 'm playing "Be Thou My Vision" in it, and I am submitting a story about Malchus (The guy who lost his ear and was healed by Jesus) to also be graded. It is a really pretty piece and I have it memorized!! Though my teacher and I are working on a intro from another version of the song to add to it.

Now......... about Riverdance! Zoe, my mom, and I went and saw Riverdance recently! IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! The way they can stay in a line and do those dance moves is incredible! We had really close seats also! We could see the peoples faces! Then, lol, hey Zoe! remember the drummer!? lol He was wild! You could tell he loves his job. Y'all really need to go see it if possible!

Taking place right now.... Zoe and I got signed up to do another special in church. I believe we are going to do either "Hosanna" by Hillsong United, or "Glory Will Cover the Earth" by Justin Rizzo. They are both REALLY powerful songs. I guess I've babeled enough now!

Well I SURVIVED!! Sunday, Zoe and I did our duet for the church during offering. It was REALLY nerve-racking for me. I have never sung for anybody other than my family and Zoe. What was a little comforting though, was Zoe's voice teacher helped us a couple of weeks before the duet. Well here it is! (If it sounds tinny it's because of the camcorder's mic.)

Youth Convention (I'm BACK!!)

Hey there!! My youth group just got back from a youth convention during the weekend. It was fantastic!! The worship was amazing, and so was Reggie Dabbs!!!! He is an awesome speaker. He makes you really think about life around you. What would you do in this situation...etc. I wish I could post pics, but I can't :(...Actually I can!! Here are a few that are safe. :D Oh, I also forgot to mention that I am on the AV Team at our church. I run the sound with one other man so we can fix anything that may happen suddenly. Then this week, I am learning; "O Come All Ye Faithful", "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman", and "The First Nowell" (English spelling) on guitar. They really fun to play. I also learned that Zoe and I are to play at nursing home Dec. 13th. We haven't done our duet yet!!! Muchless started practicing Christmas songs together lol!! That reminds me we sing this next Sunday, the 30th I believe. Life is crazy!! Then this week I get the honor of helping with Thanksgiving supper! I get to fix the "Deviled/stuffed eggs. YUMMY! You ought to try some Zoe! lol!

Creation Museum/ Mammoth Cave

Hey everybody!! Saturday I got back from a weekend trip to the Creation Museum in KY. It was amazing!! In case you don't know about it. The Creation Museum was built by Ken Ham to show people the Biblical truth of how Creation happened, and the world's view of Creation. It was all Biblical! There was TOO much to look at in one day! but we got through it. lol! On the way back we visited Mammoth Cave!! That was amazing!! I have never been that far underground! 310 ft! I'll post some pics to show y'all. In case you haven't noticed I like to take a bunch of pics!!!! :D

5k/ Piano!!/ Guitar/ Life,

Hey there people I haven't talked to in "forever and ever" Today I ran the 5k our town was hosting in the festival. It was a 5k which is 3 miles! Zoe and I ran/walked/jogged 3 miles in... I think 43-44 min. Nivek of course beat us lol!! From what I heard he had been training with Shades down their road.

Now PIANO!!! Zoe has taught me some chords on piano so that I know what she is talking about during band. lol! The chords I have learned so far are.... A, Am, B, Bm, C, D, and G. It's pretty interesting.... but I think I have gotten the hang of it! I can switch between them pretty well now. I do occasionally hit the wrong key :P

In guitar I'm learning Allegretto in A Minor. My teacher is having me learn hammer exercises, where you take your left hand and hit the string as hard as you can while cupped around the neck. Then scales! YUCK! :/ lol!

Then life...... Well school has been going pretty well other than math another YUCK! :P We have to write papers every week for classes which is quit difficult considering it takes like 5-6 hrs, to do regular school work plus homework..... :'(
Other than that nothing else has been that interesting :)

Hi!!!/All-nighter/LICENSE!!!!

Hey there!!! I haven't posted in FOREVER lol!! Where to start... Well life has been pretty slow around here. Just the usual house cleaning mess lol!, and whatnot. We start school Monday!! :'( NO!!!!. LOL!!! Anyway, I got my Intermediate Restricted Driver's License Wednesday!!!!! :D I'm really excited!! I won't be late anymore!!!! This weekend we went to an all-nighter with 2 other churches in our area. It was a blast!! We arrived at 6:40 p.m. Friday, and it went to 12:00 p.m. Saturday. The only bad thing about it was that I got pranked along with 2 other guys!! The prankers had gotten Ketchup from the kitchen earlier, like 3 hrs. earlier!! So by the time they splattered it over my hair, pillow, and sleeping bag. It had become spoiled. So the first thing I smelled when I woke up right after they got us, was rotten tomatoes!!!

It stunk worse than a landfill or dump!!!!! It was so bad that I wanted to puke!!!!! (If you get grossed out you read the warning above and that is my waver. Your fault for continuing)

Other than that the rest of the all-nighter was great. The worship was pretty good, though REALLY LOUD!!! Both messages were EXCELLENT!! :D lol!! We played a LOT of volleyball the first night, and it really fueled me to try and do some of the stunts on the Olympic volleyball games lol!! And guess what I did a dive amazingly :) Then I was jumping way up in the air!!! lol!! Well that's about it... WAIT!!! Our youth pastor's wife had a child!! It happened Thursday at 5:30 a.m. Her name is Kaylee Grace ***** We haven't seen her yet, but we hope to!!!!

Family Is Gone!

Yesterday one of the families left around 6 p.m. or so... Then today at 10:20 another family from California left.. Then tomorrow are the grandparents leave to go back. It's been quite um.... exciting. We had 17 people in the house!!!!! Somehow there was order lol!!! We went swimming a bunch then played some board games and played some PS3 and Wii... so we had plenty of things to do.. lol!! This is a boring post lol!! Work on the church is coming along great! This week I promise to take pics.. actually tomorrow afternoon for class and band I'll take them. We have been having service in a school's cafeteria for Sunday's, then on Wednesday's we have youth in our church, then the adults have service in a Catholic church next door.!!!! So we are spread out everywhere lol!!! Well that's it so far..

WOW!!! it's been forever since I have posted LOL!! Well I thought I'd just post randomly on here since I'm bored lol! Well from the title you can tell that I got a TRUCK!!! It's a 2000 Nissan Frontier that we bought a few days ago. The greatest news is it's MINE!! Until I go to collage then it's my brother's. We are also cleaning the house for our family that's coming in from California that we haven't seen in 2 years! Then our other aunt and uncle from Texas and our grandparents from there as well. None of our family have been to our house for about 6 years!!!!! We have added a addition and swimming pool so will they be surprised lol!! Then Wednesday we had a AWESOME by AWESOME, I mean AWESOME!!!! service, I shall let Zoe tell why :) lol!! Life and Things You Could Care Less About. lol!

Well... I'm sorry for not posting in like forever!! lol!! It's been pretty hectic around here... We have been up at the church working for hrs a day for about 5 days now. Yesterday we worked from 12:30 to 6:30!!! We are almost done with most of the demolition work and can get started on the inside remodeling work. The addition to the church is HUGE!!!! Especially the window in the front of the building. I might take some pics for y'all to see it. Then at our house today we poured concrete for our sidewalks around the house. For TWO hours!! In about a week we will start laying brick pavers on it. It's going to look great!!! Well that's about it other than my guitar teacher and I are going through the book pretty fast!! He's awesome!!! Now that's it lol!!

Hey I'm back!! We got back Sunday at 7:30. It was the MOST fun I have EVER had at a conference!!! The worship was great!!! Especially when everyone was raising their hands in worship to GOD. I'm Assembly of God by the way. :) Then the speakers,... don't even get me started! It was a mind-blowing experience! One of the speakers just broke down and was crying and we were on TV that night LIVE! It was filmed on GODTV. It was just so honest! Well that's about all I want to tell without going into much detail. There's just tooooooo much to write about! Then when we got back we had to well didn't have too but wanted to work at the church demolishing some inside walls for the addition. Then today we were doing the same thing for oh... about 8-9 hrs. TIRING! lol! Well that's it!

I just recently learned that on the way back from Kansas we are stopping at a college that both Zoe and I hope to attend!!! One reason I want to go is that they offer a classical guitar scholarship!!! YAY!! I'm tired as you can tell from the title lol! I'm extremely bored right now so I thought I'll post some..... This week my dad and I are going to put up a fence around our pool. My dad says it's going to be fun, but we shall see.... Thursday is going to be REALLY exciting!!!!!! Zoe and I are heading to Kansas with her mom, my mom, and my brother to attend a conference called Fascinate '08 it takes place at IHOP(International House of Prayer) wherever that is in Kansas lol!!!! I'm soooooooooo excited!!!! We leave at 4 in the morning so we can get there in time to sign up for a prayer room that we are told is very good. Well I guess that is all I have to say............... Oh I just remembered. I'm now taking classical guitar lessons from a college prof. He's really neat and we are flying through the book!!!! First lesson and we are on pg. 19!!!! Ok... now I don't have anything to say....

Paul, because he wrote so many encouraging and helpful letters to the churches around the world.

The authors of the Boxcar Children series! Great books. I still ocasionally read them

Frank Peretti and Bryan Davis. They are great mystery and fiction writers who always include a Biblical message.

I Survived Youth Camp!!/16th Birthday

Well, I'm BACK!! I have returned from Youth Camp alive and well!! It was amazing!! This year's theme was American Gladiators. We had different games laid out like the the show it was awesome! The best part of Youth Camp though was the night services we had. Each night the altars were filled with teens pouring themselves out to God! The speaker was Jacob Jester who inspired us to live our lifes out in the world, to not be ashamed of ourselves as Christians. To not think about what others will think about you! Just like the song by DC Talk "Jesus Freak" Don't care what others think! God has called us out of the world to live in it but, not to be in it~John 15:18-19
18"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. We don't need to live our lives as a candle ,but as a high-powered search light cutting through the darkness and letting Jesus Christ shine through us!! Now for events in my life. I have now turned 16!!!!!! YAY!!!! I had an awesome party with my friends and family. My family and I are going to have our own party tonight when my dad gets off. We went swimming mostly the whole time and played some billiards later. When my pastor found out that I had turned 16 he announced to the congregation that he was going out to buy himself a HUMVEE!!!!! LOL!!! I'll get another post up with some pics on it.

Youth Camp!!!!!

I can't wait!!! Youth camp is tomorrow!! It's going to be sooooo much FUN! We leave at 9:30 Monday and get back Friday afternoon. I'm going to miss reading all the intelligent posts that y'all write! :( In one week from today I'll be SWEET SIXTEEN!!!!! YAY!! Now I have to find a job so I can buy a car lol !! I guess I better go finish packing my bags lol :) Yay!

I finally saw Prince Caspian yesterday!!!!!! It was amazing! and from what I remember of the book it was pretty accurate but there were some things that were off. Like the kiss at the end, who knew that was coming? One thing I thought was really neat was Susan going all Legolas in the movie LOL! Then the duel between Peter and Miraz kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through.... actually the whole movie did!! Reepicheep was AWESOME!!!!! FANTASTIC!.....etc.... I did some research when I got home from the movie and found out the actor's ages. These are their real ages.. Caspian 26, Peter 21, Susan 20, Edmund 16, and Lucy 12! They look nothing close to their ages... well some do... anyway.... Here are some pics.

Young Christian Force

I have GREAT news!!! I am now a member of the YCF(Young Christian Force). I'm new at this blogging thing, so this is a great way to accepted into the blogging community. We that sounds so strange we.... hmmm where was I.... oh yeah. We in the YCF, are a group of teen bloggers who blog about their life experiences and how God plays the most important role in our lives. We are all fans that I know of, of Mr. Bryan Davis' books and are adamant fans of the Narnia series and movies. We also hope to meet each other on in this lifetime, if not then in heaven with our Father Lord Jesus Christ. I do plan to enjoy each other's company via Internet. LOL!!
